Break Your Glass Slipper

by Amanda Lovelace

Series: You Are Your Own Fairy Tale book #1

Trigger Warning:  child abuse, friendships, relationships, sexual harassment, eating disorders, body image issues, suicide, trauma, grief.

I’m not a huge poetry reader but I do like to read them on occasion, my favorite poems are usually nature so this book was a change up in what I’ve read in the past. This is also the first book I’ve read by Amanda Lovelace.  I will say I love that the author posted triggers before you even start to read. I hate when I’m in the middle of the book and bam smacked with something I didn’t expect. There were some that were a bit uncomfortable to read if you see the above trigger warnings you’ll know why. I don’t think they were suppose to be one’s we didnt’ feel uncomfortable reading though they are suppose to be hard to read. Overall while I’m not a regular poetry reader I did like most of the poems and will check out her other books. Maybe even try to read more poetry in between regular books. Would I recommend this to other readers? Yes I would but I would let them now about the triggers.
